Michael Keenan Obituary
KEENAN, Michael Joseph Michael Joseph Keenan, 20, of Coventry, beloved son of Dr.Michael and Linda (Porada) Keenan died Wednesday, (July 14, 2004) at his home in Coventry. Michael was born March 12, 1984 in Philadelphia, PA and was a lifelong resident of Coventry. Michael attended Watkinson School from sixth to ninth grade and was a graduate of Coventry High School, Class of 2002. Michael was employed by the Acqua Restaurant in Vernon. He attended the New England School of Culinary Arts in Cromwell. Michael loved the beach at Block Island where he spent many of his summers. He enjoyed snowboarding and skiing at Sugar Bush in Vermont and loved to cook. Michael was a true friend to many and will be dearly missed. Besides Michael's father and mother, Dr. Michael and Linda Keenan of Coventry, he is survived by two brothers and a sister, Ryan, Joseph, and Reilly Rose Keenan all of Coventry; his maternal grandmother, Joanne Porada and her husband, Ralph Vollinger of Hatfield, MA.; his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Charlotte Keenan of Rutland, VT.; several aunts and uncles; numerous cousins; other relatives and friends, including his very dear friends, Brendan Morgan, Levi Papanos, Tabatha Couture, Matthew Jaworski, Justin Najmy, and his beloved Betsy Hyman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 19, 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 1600 Main St., Coventry. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Coventry. Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 18, 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Coventry Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Tpk. RT. 44, Coventry. Memorial contributions may be made in Michael's name to Children's First Fund, c/o Connecticut Children's Medical Center, 282 Washington St., Hartford, CT 06106 or Michael Keenan Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Pat Morganson, Rockville Bank, 1703 Boston Tpk., Coventry, CT 06238.

We just heard the news about Michael. We are so sorry about your loss. There are no words we can say to ease your sadness or to convey how sorry we are. I still remember you talking about his 10th birthday when you took him skiing with his friends. He told you it was the best birthday and how much he loved you. We are so sorry for your loss.It's been 15 month's since you've helped us through the loss of our daughter.All you both did helped us get through such a difficult time and we are here for you if you need us.All we can say is to cherish all the memories that you have of him.
Michael was such a polite young man I remember him picking up Reilly Rose from preschool and he was alway's polite and alway's said hello.Alway's had a smile on his face.I will alway's remeber him.

I only had the pleasure of meeting Michael a short time ago, but in that short time he truely touched my heart. Michael was blessed with a talent for cooking. After knowing him only a short time he made me the most special birthday cake I have ever received in my life.
