Michael K. Moore

Michael K. Moore of San Diego, CA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 10, 2022 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 67 years old. Mike was born in Hartford, CT and grew up in Glastonbury until recently retiring to San Diego in 2019. Mike worked in communications for 41 years at SNET, SBC, and AT&T, eventually retiring from Frontier in December 2019. He was also co-owner of Premier Driving School, LLC in Glastonbury, with his wife Karen. Mike was a member of the East Glastonbury Fish and Game Club where he enjoyed new friendships, cooking for events, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed trips to Alaska, vacations to the Caribbean, the outdoors, riding his motorcycles and spending time with his family. Mike was well known for his sense of humor and quick wit, was always ready with a joke or prank, and illuminated every room with smiles and laughter. He is survived by his wife Karen of 45 years, daughters Jennifer Moore, Shirey Moore Jamieson (Bruce) of San Diego, CA, twin sons Michael of Denver, CO and David of Eagle River, AK, and two awesome grandchildren, Torrey and Ryder Jamieson. He is survived by his three sisters and their spouses, Laura Gutt (Daniel) of Marlborough, CT, Susan Fuchs (Frank) of Windsor, CT, Jane DiMaggio (Michael) of Canterbury, NH, and his brother-in-law Bill McDermott of Glastonbury, CT as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother, June Moore of Glastonbury, CT and was predeceased by his father, David Shirey Moore. There will be no services. If you would like to honor Mike, he would like you to have a toast to life and enjoy it as much as he did.
