MULVIHILL, Michael A., Sr. Michael "Mike" A. Mulvihill, Sr., 61, of Old Saybrook, passed away on Saturday (January 20, 2007) at Middlesex Hospital in the Hospice Unit. Mike was born on September 30, 1945, to the late Myrl H. and Olive P. (Walton) Mulvihill. Mike was a graduate of Old Saybrook High School class of 1963, and held B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of New Haven. During the 1970's, Mike served the town of Old Saybrook as a police officer where he achieved the rank of Sergeant and Detective. Throughout the 1980's, Mike was a QA and Financial Analyst for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, in Middletown. In the early 1990's Mike found his professional passion in education. Throughout the remaining years of his life, Mike taught mathematics at East Haven and Guilford High Schools. Mike was a huge fan of the N.Y. Giants and an aficionado of the game of golf; with a highlight being his winning of the Senior Division Club Championship at Banner Lodge Country Club in 2005. In addition to his loving wife of 41 years Melody (Weaver) Mulvihill, Mike is survived by his two sons; Michael A. Mulvihill, Jr. of Westbrook and Matthew J. Mulvihill of Old Saybrook; three brothers; Robert P. Mulvihill of Westbrook, David E. Mulvihill of Old Saybrook, and Richard M. Mulvihill of Old Saybrook; three granddaughters; Alexa Mulvihill, Devin Mulvihill, and Kallie Mulvihill; and numerous loving friends and relatives in both CT and NY. Friends and family may call at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook, on Wednesday, January 24 between 4-7 p.m. A Funeral service celebrating Mike's life will be held on Thursday, January 25 at 11 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 338 Main Street, Old Saybrook. Memorial contributions may be made to the Middlesex Hospital Hospice Unit, 28 Crescent Street, Middletown, 06457.
