PIGAN, Michael Michael Pigan, 84 of Hebron, beloved husband of Katherine (Szegda) Pigan passed away on Wednesday (September 7, 2005). Michael was born on September 2, 1921 in the Ukraine. After several years in Germany and Belgium he brought his family to America in 1954 and located in the the Hartford area. He was a carpenter and retired in 1985. He was a member of the Ukrainian National Home and a parishioner of St. Michaels Ukraininan Catholic Church both in Hartford. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Katherine; four children, Anna and her husband, Walter of Newington, Steven and Katherine Pigan of Cooper City, FL, Donald Pigan and Brenda Belisle of Colchester, and Mary Pigan of Hebron; four grandchildren, Katherine Laskowski and her husband, Michael of East Hampton, Gregory Gwisc and his wife, Molly of Salem, and Daniel and Michael Pigan of Cooper City, FL; as well as two great grandchildren, Grace and Kaylin Laskowski of East Hampton. He leaves numerous friends and family members here as well as in the Ukraine. Michael "Tato/Dido" will forever be remembered and loved. A Mass of Requiem Liturgy will be held TODAY at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hartford, followed by Burial in St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Glastonbury. Memorial donations may be made to the Children of Chornobyl Relief Fund, P.O. Box 340278, Hartford, CT 06134.
