Michael B. Schardt

1955 - 2018

Michael Brockett Schardt, 62, of Manchester, CT, passed away on October 28th, 2018 in Windsor, CT. Michael was born in Manchester, CT to Walter Schardt and Helen (Roeser) Schardt on November 11th, 1955. He graduated from Paul Smith's College in New York and Johnson State College in Vermont with degrees in forestry and environmental science. He married Cheryl Lee (Bates) Schardt on August 2nd, 1980 in Coventry, CT. They were lovingly married for 38 years. He worked as a skilled machinist for Alloy Specialties. Michael loved the New York Yankees, fishing, listening to music (Bob Dylan in particular), golfing, spending his time in nature, naming every tree he passed, canoeing with his wife, and telling stories. He will be remembered for his big belly laugh that he shared with his father and brothers. Michael is survived by his loving wife Cheryl Schardt, daughter Leland Schardt and her partner Connor Philbin, daughter Meghan (Schardt) Pivarnik and her husband Kyle Pivarnik. Michael was the middle of nine children all with names beginning with the letter m: Mallory (Schardt) Landers, Marc Schardt, Martha Schardt, Matt Schardt, Megan Schardt, Melissa Schardt, Meredith (Schardt) Coston, and Mitchell (Schardt) Finkle. He will be dearly missed. I shall be released –Bob Dylan A celebration of life will be held November 16th, 2018, from 4-7 p.m. at Riverview Farms Gray Barn at 593 Tryon St. South Glastonbury, CT.
