TOMMASI, Michael G. Michael G. Tommasi of Cromwell, husband of Carmen (Annino) Tommasi, passed away Sunday, (May 1, 2005) at Middlesex Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born, raised, and educated in Middletown, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Falbo) Tommasi. Michael was sales manager for many years with Combined Insurance Company of America, and until his retirement, was employed by American Income Life Insurance Company. He was a veteran of World War II and was in the Battle of the Bulge, for which he was awarded a Purple Heart. He served the 33rd District as a State Representative; was a former member of both the Cromwell Democratic Town Committee and Board of Finance. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and a life long member of the Elks. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Linda Carroll and her husband Nicholas of Cromwell; a son, Michael Tommasi and his wife Kate of Florida; a sister, Antoinette Mazzotta and her husband Peter; and two brothers, Guy and Frank Tommasi; nine wonderful grandchildren, Stephen, Robin, and Scott Langley; Mark and Nicholas Carroll and Tracey (Carroll) Gaff; Michele, William and Julia Tomassi; eight beautiful great-grandchildren; his sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews who were all so very dear to him. He was predeceased by a daughter, Ann T. Langley; his brothers, Salvatore and Corrado Tommasi. The family wishes to extend its deepest appreciation to the "angels" on staff in the Middlesex Weiss Hospice Unit, who cared so wonderfully for Michael. Funeral services will be held from the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main St., Cromwell, Wednesday, May 4 at 9 a.m. and at St. John Church, Cromwell at 10 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Middletown. There will be no evening calling hours. Those who wish, are encouraged to make a donation in Michael's memory to the Middlesex Hospital, Weiss Hospice Unit, c/o the Office of Philanthropy, 55 Crescent St., Middletown, 06457.

dear carmel;rosemarie and i are deeply saddened at mike's passing.please know that he was a wonderful and good man and of his courage there is nothing but awe.we remember fondly how he treated us when we were newly wed.always a smile and a good word.you have many,many good memories.recall them.we shall pray for mike and please accept our love to you...rosemarie and sparky...
