SKINNER, Mildred Fairchild
Mildred Fairchild Skinner, 92, of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2013. Millie was born in Meriden to Roy and Jane Fairchild on September 9, 1921. She went to Meriden High School, graduating in 1939, and earned an associate's degree from Larson Junior College in 1941. Millie is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Jane; her husband William G. Skinner; her sister Barbara Fairchild; and her grandson Adam J. Skinner. She is survived by her daughters Barbara S. Bourn of Chapel Hill, NC and Jayne G. Skinner of West Hartford; son Jeffrey M. Skinner of Cypress, TX; grandchildren Scott D. Bourn of Silver Spring, MD, Eric A. Bourn of Durham, NC and Shannon J. Skinner of Cypress, TX; three great-grandchildren William and Laynie Bourn of Durham, NC and Sadie Bourn of Silver Spring, MD. Millie met her husband at Whitney Tool Company in Hartford in 1942 and married Bill in January, 1944. In 1966 she was employed at Hartford National Bank & Trust Company where she rose to the title of trust officer before retiring in 1986. Her hobbies included gardening, knitting and excelled at cooking. She was a very dedicated mother and wife who instilled high moral values throughout her family.

To the descendants of Mildred Fairchild: I inherited a photo of a "Millie" Fairchild who was visiting/living in Stony Creek, CT in 1939. She and my father were sweethearts.
