Miles Weinberg, 90, of Rocky Hill and formerly of Newington, died at the Bel Air Nursing Home early Sunday Morning, October 12, 2014. He was the son of Isadore and Rachel (Kronson) Weinberg. He was born in Hartford, CT, July 6th 1924, and lived most of his years in the Connecticut area. Miles graduated from New Britain High School in 1942 and served our country proud with the U.S. Navy during WWII. After the Navy he became a Pharmacist and for many years worked at the former Axelrod's Pharmacy in New Britain. Miles was happiest when with his family and many friends. Miles and Doris are former members of the B'nai Tikvoh-Sholom Synagogue, Bloomfield. Miles is survived by his wife of 57 years Doris and his 3 children of whom he loved and was so proud of. The surviving children are his son Michael Weinberg of Hawthorne, CA. and daughters Laura (Weinberg) Ringer of Salem, CT. and Lisa (Weinberg) Leibman of Midlothian, VA. Additionally, he is survived by sister-in-laws Micki Gersh and Barbara Weinberg, son-in-law Scott Ringer and his 2 beloved grandchildren Rebecca and Jared Ringer. He lovingly left 2 nieces Gail (Weinberg) Olszewski and Linda Weinberg. Miles was predeceased by his beloved brother Philip Weinberg and brother-in-law Frederick Gersh. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 15th 1:00 with Rabbi Debra Cantor officiating, at Beth Alom Cemetery, 48 Allen Street, New Britain,CT. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the family to the caregivers of the Hospital of Central Ct. and the Bel Air Nursing Home.
