Mitchell Posuniak Obituary

POSUNIAK, Mitchell Mitchell Posuniak, 86 of Hampton passed away Saturday (December 15, 2007), at home. Born in Lowell, MA to Stanley and Agnes (Przybyla) Posuniak. He resided in Glastonbury for most of his life before moving to Hampton and living there for the last 20 years. He was predeceased by his first wife of 35 years Barbara (Kristoff) Posuniak, after the loss of her he remarried and was predeceased by his second wife of 23 years Louise (Cyr) Posuniak. He served his country in World War II in the 90th Army Infantry Division where he received three purple hearts and a bronze star. He was a member of the Pfau-Smyk VFW in Glastonbury. He worked for C. Monzegilo Construction Company before working for the State of Connecticut. He is survived by two step-daughters Pattie Musie and her husband Steven of South Carolina and Barbara Matassa of Woodstock, also three grandchildren Lisa Matassa, Renee Cottrill, and Ryan Cottrill and two great grandchildren Colin Gagne and Tyler Cottrill. He also leaves four sisters, Rose Bayerowski, Adeline Armando, both of Glastonbury, Anastasia Dondero of East Windsor Hill and Helen Dahl of Ellington, also several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five siblings, Thomas Posuniak, Lida Mincarelli, Antoinette Posuniak, Jean Terlecki and Stella Kristoff. Calling hours will be TODAY Wednesday December 19 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Funeral services will be Thursday 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hampton Voluntary Ambulance Fund, PO Box 21, Hampton, CT 06247.
