Thanks for your Newington citizenship

Myra devoted a large part of her life to making Newington a better place. She was a prominent and active member of the Newington Kiwanis family, and she spent many hours helping others. It was an honor and a privilege to have worked with her and to be able to call her a friend.

You are in my thoughts and my prayers.

Al, Marlene, Francine and Steven,
How do you begin to speak of Myra and her accomplishments? Her dedication to the town of Newington and to B'Nai Tikvoh-Shalom was immeasurable. She was a giant among giants, despite her 4' 10" frame. She always spoke from her heart, and for that she was respected and admired by all, including those of us on the Newington Democratic Town Committee were privileged to know her and work with her. May she rest in peace.
Sholom, Myra.

AL Our sympathies go to you and your family.
Myra was a wonderful person. I especially enjoyed the time I spent as clerk of the town council and working with her. She would always carefully read my minutes and tell me if she was not in agreement. I always respected her opinions.

I was so sad to hear about Myra yesterday and send my condolences to Al and family. I have known Myra since 1979 and was one of the lucky people chosen to drive her to the Senior and Disabled Commission meetings and an occasional town committee meeting. Anyone who has had the privilege of giving Myra a ride home, knows that you could learn more about Newington in the 10 minute drive, than you could reading any history book in the Newington Library. Everyone is impressed by her years serving on the Town Council but I was even more impressed by her service as a citizen representative before she ever was elected. For ten years plus she would attend council meetings as a private citizen and had better attendance that anyone on the town council. Her dedication to Newington went beyond government, including her service to the Kiwanis Club alongside her husband Al. I hope her family keeps the many boxes of meeting records written with her accurate stenographer notes. It will be evidence of her legacy.
