1929 - 2022

Myron "Mike" Baron,93 of Avon died peacefully, embraced by loving family on Friday September 2, 2022. Mike was born on July 29,1929 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of William and Mollye (Caplan) Baron. A lifelong Brooklyn resident, Mike met Ilene, the love of his life, shortly after completing his military service. He then embarked on what became a successful career in the automobile industry, culminating with Baron Motors, a Buick and Subaru dealership located in Brooklyn. After retiring, Mike became an active member in SCORE, the nation's largest network of volunteer business mentors. Mike was passionate about the Jewish community, serving two terms as President of The Union Temple of Brooklyn. Lifelong Brooklyn residents; in 2005 Mike and Ilene relocated to Avon. They enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family and friends. There was always "room for two more at the table." Wonderful hosts, they made sure holidays and birthdays were always special. Mike needed very little reason to suggest "we should make a party." Mike is survived by his wife, Ilene, his daughter, Debra, his son Marty, and his wife Nancy, his three grandchildren, Taylor, William and Molly, his nephew Michael Levy and his wife Marilyn, his great nephews Matthew and Mitchel Levy and his wife Ariel, his niece Robin Nelson, nephew David Geist and many longtime friends. He was predeceased by his sister Gladys. A graveside funeral service will be held TODAY, Sunday, September 4 at 11 AM, led by Rabbi Jim Rosen at Beth El Cemetery, 51 Jackson Street, Avon. Following the service, mourners will be greeted by friends and family at Mike and Ilene's home. The family will observe a period of mourning at Mike and Ilene's home Monday and Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm with a minyan service at 7 pm both nights The family is grateful for the loving and dignified care given to Mike by Leroy and Shirley.
