Nathan Everett Woodworth

1916 - 2019

Nathan Everett Woodworth, 103, of Simsbury, CT passed away peacefully at Avon Health Center on Dec. 14, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was married for 68 years to the love of his life, the late Alice (Hall) Woodworth (2004). He was born in Providence, RI on Nov. 3, 1916, to the late Rev. Albert and Rachel (Green) Woodworth. He started his family in Winsted, then to West Hartford, before moving into the house he built in Simsbury in 1951. He was employed by Allen Mfg. Co. for over 40 years, retiring in 1981. Dad enjoyed golf, bowling, his beloved Red Sox, Lady Huskies basketball, and most important of all, time with his family. He was a true gentleman and liked by all! He was predeceased by his eldest son, Robert F. Woodworth; his 3 brothers, Bill, Steve and John; his 4 sisters, Elizabeth, Eleanor, Zella and Deborah; and his special friend, Violet Kurtz. He is survived by his children: Paula Ledden of Collinsville, Deborah Majewski (Vincent) of Farmington, Leslie DiBenedetto (Emidio) of Summerfield, FL, Neal Woodworth of Canton, and Nancy (Booth) Woodworth (Robert, dec'd) of Bloomfield. Grandchildren: Jason, Jonathan, Scott Woodworth; Geoffrey Ledden, Alison (Ledden)Langer; Peter, Michael Majewski; and Ian Woodworth. Great-grandchildren: Troy, Austin, Kaylie, Natalie, Nelson and Morgan. Great-great-grandson, Riley. And, he will be missed by his MANY nieces and nephews! A Celebration of Nate's Life will be on Saturday, January 25th at 11:00 am at Simsbury United Methodist Church, 799 Hopmeadow St. in Simsbury. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall at the church. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nate's name may be made to Avon Health Center Resident Fund, 652 West Avon Rd, Avon, CT 06001.
