RANCOURT, Norman Emile
Norman Emile Rancourt, 82, of Manchester, husband of 57 years to Barbara (Ritchie) Rancourt died Thursday (March 7, 2013) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Norman was born and raised in Fall River, MA, the son of the late Emile and Yvonne (Lebruex) Rancourt and step-son of Emma (Goyette) Rancourt and attended Diamond Vocational High School, Fall River. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a self-employed builder/carpenter for over 40 years. He loved to garden and enjoyed music and playing his guitar. Norman took up painting later in life and painted beautiful landscapes; creating drafting sketches and plans occupied his time also. His was very fond of watching the antics of the cats Molly and Teddy. He Norman will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor. He is also survived by, his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Susan Rancourt of Bloomfield; and his son Mark and companion Fran of Vernon. In addition he is also survived by his brothers Albert (Eunice) Rancourt of Brandon, FL: Larry (Sylvia) Rancourt, Little Compton, RI; Paul (Catherine) Rancourt, Cape Cod, MA; and his sisters Jeannette (Larry) Wolfe, Tampa, FL; Theresa (Sue Sheppard) Rancourt, Swansea, MA; and his step-brother Robert (Pauline) Goyette, Lake Oswego, OR; and 32 nieces and nephews and many, many great-nieces and nephews. Norman was preceded in death by his brothers Eddie Rancourt, Leo Rancourt, Robert Rancourt, Morris (Mike) Rancourt; and his sister Claire Rancourt Torpey and stepbrother Renee Goyette.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill, CT 06067. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, P.O.Box 1933, Hartford, CT 06144-1933 or a charity of your choice.&zwsp;
