STEVENS, Pamela Brooke
Pamela Brooke Stevens, age 71, of Old Saybrook, passed away on Thursday morning, August 8, 2013 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the beloved wife of Charles K. "Butch, Chuck," Stevens. Pam was born in Middletown on November 22, 1941 the second of six children of the late Leslie A. and Arline C. Brooke. She grew up in Ivoryton and graduated from Valley Regional High School in Deep River in 1959. She was employed for 23 years by The Gillette Company in Boston, MA, as a Stationery Products Customer Service Representative. While living in the Boston area she sang with the band, The Music Company. Pam enjoyed her retirement years living in Old Saybrook where her kindness and sense of humor endeared her to all who knew her. Besides her husband she leaves her son, Jon E. Magoun and his wife Rebecca of Lowville, NY, stepsons, Jack L. Stevens and his wife Michelle of Old Saybrook, and Max K. Stevens of Massapequa, NY, her mother-in-law, Mary K. Stevens of Deep River, her sisters, Arline Cardoso, of Middletown, Robin Austin, and her partner Ted Owen of Westbrook, her brother, Michael Brooke and his wife Delores of Westbrook, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous other family members. Pam also leaves her dear friend and neighbor, Cheryl (Sherry) Anderson-Mucha, of Old Saybrook. She was predeceased by her daughter, Tracy Magoun Southworth, her granddaughter, Holly Southworth, sister, Candace B. Leary and brother, Leslie A. Brooke, Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 2 PM at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. in Centerbrook. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Pam's name may be made to the VNA Community Health Care, Inc., 753 Boston Post Rd., Guilford, CT 06437, Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405, or to a charity of one's choice.
