Patricia Peling Obituary

Patricia O. Peling, 81, of Simsbury, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, surrounded by her family at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Michigan on September 29, 1937, daughter of the late Francis and Doris (Smith) O'Donnell, she was raised in Granby, attended elementary school in a one-room school house in Granby, and later graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Hartford. After graduation, Patricia married John Joseph Klemonsky, II and moved to Simsbury where she raised her children for several years before moving back to Granby in 1963. Patricia and her husband had seven children and she worked multiple jobs while caring for her family. Most recently, she worked as a caregiver for FAVARH in Canton until her retirement at the age of 80. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening around her home, was an avid reader, and loved her pets and grand dogs. If you knew her it was a blessing and she was a friend to all. She leaves her seven children, Kathleen Courser and her husband Robert of Granby, John J. Klemonsky, III and his wife Karen of East Granby, Susan Fedorjaczenko of Simsbury, Steven F. Klemonsky of Granby, Jimmy P. Klemonsky of Simsbury, Paul T. Klemonsky of Granby, and Timothy M. Klemonsky of Wilmington, NC; three stepchildren, David Pelling and his wife Colleen of Granby, Diane Brown and her husband Dale of Bar Harbor, ME, and Robert Peling and his wife Elizabeth of Wethersfield; two brothers, Richard O'Donnell and his wife Irene of Las Vegas, NV and Thomas O'Donnell and his wife Claudette of Christmas, FL; her sister-in-law, Irene Kelly of Boca Raton, FL; her dear friend, Don Joy of East Hartland; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four nephews. She was predeceased by her first and second husbands, John Joseph Klemonsky, II and Ralph Peling; her stepfather, Joseph Luma; and a grandson, Kyle Roger Courser. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, January 19, 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. Burial will be private. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Francis Hospital for their expert care and concern for the family during this difficult time. Memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Simsbury Public Library, 725 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury, CT 06070. For online condolences please visit, www.carmonfuneralhome.com.

I had the pleasure of working with Pat at Favarh. She was a lovely, thoughtful woman with a comforting hug. I'm sorry I will be unable to attend the service, but Pat would understand. I'll be working with the kids program at Favarh. You'll be missed Pat.

Dave, please accept my condolences to you and Colleen and your family on the passing of your stepmother. What an extraordinary woman!

I had the pleasure of being Pat's neighbor for the past 4 years and she was, indeed, both a Blessing and a Friend to me. I never wanted to pass up a single time to wave "hello" and chat with her every time I spotted her! I always felt inspired by any contact with her! She was so strong and yet so very kind. And always interested in others and what was going on in their lives. Somehow I always felt that she saw the very best in me and that is such a wonderful gift to give to another! I will miss her company and our talks, but she touched my soul in such a lovely way that I will be forever Blessed from having known her! My thoughts and prayers are with all her family and loved ones. Lynn Musulin
