Patrick Gleason Obituary

Patrick Gleason, of Manchester, born 11/12/71, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 10th, 2021. He was the son of Walter and Geraldine (Lynch) Gleason. Patrick served his country right after high school 1990-1994 by joining the Army. He was stationed at Fort Benning for Infantry training, was a combat veteran, and earned the rank of E-4 Squad Leader with the 25th Infantry Battalion Scouts. The Ambulance Service of Manchester employed Patrick from 2015-2021 as a First Responder and in the Business Development and Public Relations department. Patrick's job allowed him to be involved with many community service and improvement organizations around the Town of Manchester. Dear to his heart was MACC Charities, Rebuilding Together, Honor Wellness, Chamber of Commerce, Food and Toy drives, and a mentor program for students at MHS to get them interested in the EMS field. Working at ASM allowed him to participate in the community to such an extent that this year he was chosen for both the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Year Award and the Community Achievement Award. Patrick loved to be there for the sick and suffering, those seeking peace and spirituality, really anyone who needed anything. Patrick was a member of Crossroads Community Cathedral in East Hartford where he served on Strong Enough Men's Ministry. He was a fisher of men and tried to meet people where they were on their journey, he offered to attend church or recovery meetings with anyone who showed an interest. While Patrick loved skiing, surfing, fishing, shooting his firearms, his 2 dogs Wilson and Max, and cooking all the family meals, there was no greater joy to him than his family. Patrick took his roles as spouse and father very seriously; he possessed a perfect balance of firmness and gentleness and was naturally loving toward other people. Patrick was a once-in-a-lifetime person. We are so fortunate to have had him. We now have to give him back to God and hold on to all of our memories. He is survived by his wife Penny (Parent) Gleason, his son Connor Gleason, step-daughter Olivia Saffery, a brother Sean Gleason of Arizona, and his former wife Dana Litwinka. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 25th at 10:00 am promptly (as it will be live-streamed) at Crossroads Community Cathedral, 1492 Silver Lane, East Hartford, CT. Following the celebration join us at the Elks Club on Bissell Street in Manchester for food and fellowship. The John F. Tierney Funeral Home, Manchester has care of the arrangements. Pat was one of the most loyal and genuine friends you could ever ask for. He was and always will be the definition of what an amazing human being is. We lost a good one, that cannot be replicated or replaced. RIP Pat you will always be in our hearts.

Patrick. When I first met you I knew you you were a good person. You cared about people, and what they had to say. You listened to them and gave them good advise. You loved fishing, and most of all, your family. You don´t know it, but you touched many people and saved a lot of people with your encouragement. Life got busy, and we didn´t we didn´t get to go on that fishing trip we were planning. You were loved by many people and missed by many. We will always remember all the good memories because there were many. We will meat again my friend will finally get to go on the fishing trip. RIP Pat Gleason

I am so sorry. Patrick was a humble man with many fantastic qualities. Always ready to help. And many times his help came as scattered kindness when someone was in distress. My life has been impacted by knowing Patrick.
May the good memories fill Patrick´s family and friends hearts.
