Dear Nicole
Words fail.
We are truly sorry for your loss and pray for your father's safe return home.
We lit a candle for him. It will burn in our home for seven days.
My Nonni passed on this belief to us.
The candle shines a light that connects those who are finding their way home to the people on earth who are waving goodbye until their loved one is finally there, where others, already passed, have set a place at the table for them.
In our family, we also believe that another journey begins at the end of worldly existence. We hope your father's path stretches far beyond the life we can only imagine to a place where the trials of his life are resolved . . . where the love you shared provides him shelter and peace . . . and where his soul will surely find a way to the light.
I hope you and your family are finding comfort in all the special ways you have learned to in your life's journey.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Pat's sudden passing. We will keep his family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Pat was a great friend to my family over the last 25 years. When my middle sister passed several years ago, Pat was at my older sister's door the morning of her funeral lawn mower in tow...he proceeded to mow the grass and put up a tent so things would be ready for the afternoon reception...this is how I and many other will remember him...a selfless, generous and caring person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Dear O'Connor family, I struggle to put in to words my thoughts of such a wonderful friend. I had the pleasure of seeing Pat many times per week as we worked together for 20+ years. We worked on several long projects which afforded us to have the opportunity to have hundreds of conversations and for me to enjoy his stories, advice and his wonderful smile. I have memories/stories that go back to when we did kenpo together in the 80's, and as recent as the running stories of the Hartford marathon (his proposal to Teresa), Manchester road races, David's hockey games, Nicole's ventures at UCONN and travels, Lindsey's 1st half marathon, Teresa photography etc.. He shared openly and I'm so happy he did. He was a genuine wonderful person!
His family should know how respected he was and how much we enjoyed working with him. Since his passing there have been so many great stories shared about this great guy. You dad, husband, son and sibling touch each of us in a positive way. He made each of us better people and work a better place.
I'm so sorry for your loss. There are no words to totally comfort you but what I can offer is to let you know those of us who had the pleasure of knowing him knew how happy Pat was and that is because of each of you! He was so proud and loved you so very much.

To say that I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of Pat's sudden passing would be a complete understatement. I am a friend of Pat's cousin, Theresa Owens Malone and knew Pat and Sue in high school. They were the type of couple, even in high school that made you feel "good" when you were around them...because they were so "good". When I had heard that Pat had remarried, to Theresa Henriques, it was with such joy from the family that he had found love again with such a wonderful woman. "What beautiful hearts all these people have", I would always think. Anytime there were posts about his children on FB it was as if his pride was beaming through cyber space! I last saw Pat at this years St. Paddy's Day parade and to be honest, I saw his dog before I even noticed it was Pat! Again, not knowing him well, but, knowing who he was through Theresa, mutual friends and our East Hartford connection was more than enough to feel genuine happiness to see him and ease in conversation! This is a sudden and some would say tragic ending to any life...never mind someone as truly "good" as Pat...but, I can't help but think that although some people live much longer...they don't even come close to living with such unbridled, unabashed joy and love. Pat is from an amazing family...full of love for one another, their heritage and their Faith. He is with his God...and with his family in heaven and with all of you in spirit forever. You are all in my prayers.
