Patrick Scott Obituary

Patrick N. Scott, Jr., 78 years old, of the Poquonock section of Windsor, CT passed away at home on March 11th. Pat, the son of Patrick Scott, Sr. and Pamela Scott (Duperon), was born in Hartford, CT, spent several years of his youth in Bermuda, moved back to Hartford and graduated from Hartford Public High School. Patrick had a large family and leaves behind Kerri Inyatkin (Ruslan) of Windsor, CT, Jay Scott (Liz) of Wynnewood, PA, Aaron Scott (Pam) of West Hartford, CT, Brigid Marks of Canterbury, CT and David Scott (Tammy) of Henderson, NV. He also leaves his grandchildren, Zachary, Emily, Olivia, Jacob, Noah, Patrick, Eddie, Joey, Ryan, Jordan, Marina, Alex and Oksana, his great grandchildren, Arlo, Sylvie, Fiona and Jasmine, his companion Erika Parker and his sister-in-law, Patricia Scott. Patrick was predeceased by Judith, his wife of 49 years (and his high school sweetheart), as well as by his granddaughter Alexandra. Pat was a long-time boy's little league and girl's softball coach in the Windsor International Little League system, during the heavily contested Athletics/White Sox little league rivalry era of the 1970s. Besides imparting much wisdom, positive influence and a healthy work ethic on his players while they played for him, he also taught them skills and lessons they could carry with them for the rest of their lives. Many of those who played for him and many of those who played against him reiterated his positive influence to Pat's family over the past several months. He had many successes as a coach, but he had two crowning achievements that stood out among the rest. First, was his 1977 All-Star team, which he coached with his buddy Jim Woble, that outscored the competition 29 to 5 and included a no-hitter and a one-hitter on their way to the district championships…arguably the finest All-Star team to ever come from Windsor. Second, was his 1979 Athletics, which not only won the Windsor International Little League championship, but then went on to defeat the champions from the Windsor American and Windsor National leagues in a final game that came down to amazing and exciting play by his boys in the last inning to capture the town wide little league throne and earn Pat the vanity license plate WILL-79. Pat's family would like to thank the University of Pennsylvania lung transplant team who allowed Pat an extra 7+ years with us, during which time he witnessed the birth of one more grandchild and four great grandchildren. The family will have a small private funeral ceremony, with plans for a post-Covid gathering for Pat's friends when the time is right. There is no need to send flowers or donations, however, if anyone is interested, Pat's favorite charity was Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, an organization founded by his granddaughter Alexandra. Carmon Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Please visit, www.carmonfuneralhome.com for online expressions of sympathy.
