Paul was a great engineer and compassionate person,,,who was my first supervisor when I started employment as a test engineer at Pratt. We had many good conversations that helped me get started on the right foot. The story I have to tell is one night when I was assigned second shift.
At the end of the shift ther was a JT3D test going on, that was going to be shut down for lack of engineer coverage. I said I would stay over to 3 rd shift to finish the test.
In my move to get ready for that, i parked m;y car in the Superintends parking spot at the front door of the building, with the intention to move it later.
Well, I got rapped up in the test and when the Super came in at 7pm, found a car in his spot, he his car right behind mine to block it in. When I got there about 8am I knew I was in deep yogurt, so I went to Paul and told him the story. He went to the Super and explained the situation and then told me the Super wanted to see me. I went to his office expecting to be fired. The Super talked to me like an old uncle , and I said it would never happen again , and he said he under stood the situation.
I am sure it was only because Paul explained it in the right way to him. Thanks Paul, you helped set my career on a good trajectory.
