Paul Sheridan Obituary

Paul B. Sheridan, 88, formerly of Wall St., Meriden, husband of the late Mildred Johnson Sheridan, died on Saturday, (November 23, 2002) at Westfield Care & Rehab Center. Born in Bolton on Dec. 8, 1913, the son of the late Michael and Julia Sheridan. He had resided in Meriden for many years, and graduated from Manchester High School, Class of 1932. During his high school years, he played football and served as an outstanding quarterback for the Manchester High School football team. Mr. Sheridan was employed by New Departure, retiring in 1978. He was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church. Mr. Sheridan was an avid sportsman. Fishing and hunting with his sons and friends was an enjoyable part of his life. The art of carving decoys and ducks, and gardening were all sources of joy during his lifetime. He is survived by a daughter, Maureen Iwanicki and her husband, Paul of Wallingford; three sons, Paul C. Sheridan of Meriden, Kerry Sheridan and his wife, Vicky of New Britain, Mark Sheridan and his wife, Jeanne of Washington Depot; six grandchildren, Dawn Meagher of East Haddam, Deanne Iwanicki of St. Petersburg, FL, Jeffrey Sheridan and Timothy Sheridan of Florida, Laurie Sheridan and Karen Tarlowski, both of New Britain; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Noelle Meagher of East Haddam, and Nicholas Rinaldini of New Britain. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Russell Johnson of Manchester; a sister-in-law, Mary Sheridan of Bolton; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Dean P. Iwanicki. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 9:30 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, and at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. prior to the Mass.
