Peter Mascaro Obituary
Peter David Mascaro, Jr., 39, of Colchester, passed away unexpectedly on June 16, 2015. Born in Middletown on July 18, 1975, he was a son of Peter and Lisa (Sadlowski) Mascaro of Middletown. Peter married Michele Martin on July 13, 2002. The couple moved to Colchester where they made their home, built their businesses, Mascaro Electric and Mascaro Landscaping, and raised their children, Jordyn and Mason. He was an avid outdoorsman. Peter loved hunting, fishing, camping and any other activity that would allow him to be outside. He was a member of the Fin, Fur and Feather Club in Chaplin. Most importantly, he will be dearly missed and remembered as a devoted and loving husband and father. In addition to his beloved wife and children, survivors include a brother, Adam Mascaro; an aunt, Mary Marino and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (June 23rd) at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester, beginning with calling hours from 4 - 6:30 pm, with the funeral service following immediately at 6:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to benefit his son; "Mason's Fund", c/o Liberty Bank, 219 South Main St., Colchester 06415. www.auroramccarthyfuneralhome.com

You feel so helpless at a time like this. My girls and the mascara boys all grew up together as brothers and sisters and then time passes on we loose each other in this stressful. I have vivid memories of my very young cousin, Peter Sr. coming over in the early eighties when I was first married to help with various household projects. He always came with Adam and Peter David in tow, the latter looking exactly like him. I was impressed with the love, patience, attention and care he showed with his two sons. They were good boys, cute as can be, and he was clearly proud of them. I soon had children of my own and all the associated pressures, as I'm sure Peter did as well. We seldom ran in to each other over the years, although we did see Peter Sr. and Peter David some years back at Judy and Pete's 50th wedding anniversary celebration. I remember being pleased to learn all that Peter David had accomplished, and at such an early age. We chatted and laughed a bit-- this one time I got to see him as an adult. Since then I have seen Peter Sr. and Linda more often, and like other parents, they speak of the accomplishment of the kids. Among the many things I admire about Peter and Linda is the way they have melded their two families. There is no my children or your childrenthey are OUR children. It is sweet and respectful and loving--a great example that if followed would bring more peace and joy to other blended families. It is clear to me that Peter David was a talented man who found ways to exploit those talents, and it is terrible that he is no longer here to become all he could have been. My heart is breaking for the familyPeter Sr. and his siblings, Linda, Lisa, Adam, and Peter David's grandparents Judy and Pete who have lost their first grandchild. Frank and I send our love and sympathy to all of you. I pray that someday you will be able to look back at memories of him not with profound sadness but with a smile for the happy moments.
