VIOLETTE, Philip J.
Philip J. Violette, 86, born May 5, 1927 in Van Buren, ME, the son of the late Octave and Ozithe (Lavoie) Violette, died Monday, (July 15, 2013) at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Phoebe (St. Pierre) (Page) Violette of Rocky Hill. He is survived by a son, Claude Page of Vernon, two daughters, Paulette Sheehan of Rocky Hill, Yvette Page of "A New Page" in Middletown, two brothers, Conrad and Harold Violette of Waterville, ME, and a sister, Teresa Poulin of Kenneth, FL. He was also blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Peter J. Page, two daughters, Geraldine (Page) Smith, Ann (Page) Mitchell, three brothers, Leo, Gilbert, and Roland Violette, and four sisters, Connie Jacoby, Jean King, Lucille Poulin, and Pauline Joseph. Philip worked for Hi-Fashion Laminates of Newington, also as a general siding contractor and as a construction superintendent for Avon Ridge Construction Co. in Avon. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in both Korea and Japan. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Rochambeau Elms Post #2083 in East Hartford.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 20, 9 a.m. from the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Church in Rocky Hill. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park with full military honors. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Friday, July 19, 5-8 p.m.
