HALL, Phyllis Hargreaves
Phyllis Hargreaves Hall, 87, of Mystic, CT wife of the late Rib Hall, passed away on Monday, (August 12, 2013). She was born November 11, 1925 in Willimantic, CT, the daughter of John and Edna Hargreaves. Phyllis is survived by a sister, Dede Tryon of West Hartford, CT and a brother Jack Hargreaves, of Sarasota, FL and three sons -Michael McBee and wife Carol of Mystic, CT, Bo McBee and wife Chris of Houston, TX, and Jonathan McBee of Atlanta, GA. Phyllis also leaves six grandchildren: Becca Eller, Will McBee, Nathan McBee, Drew McBee, Lauren Schmitt, and Scott McBee, and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis graduated from University of Connecticut in 1946. At UConn she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and she enjoyed a special friendship with several of her sorority sisters throughout life. After living in North Carolina and summers at Groton Long Point, Phyllis returned to Mystic thirty years ago. She and Rib traveled to many parts of the world when not in Mystic or summers in New Harbor, Maine. She loved golf, drawing at the easel with her pastels, and her summer gardens.
There will be a private family service at the Mystic Congregational Church. Friends and family will be welcomed on Thursday, August 15, at the home of Michael and Carol McBee, 687 Noank Rd., Mystic CT from 1-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Our Shoreline Community Association (OSCA), PO Box 287, West Mystic CT 06388. The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic is assisting the family.
