Rae Stahl Obituary

(1940-2017) - Rae (Piaggi) Stahl, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully, with family at her side on Sunday, March 19, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late Carl "Lenny" Stahl of 41 years. Born in Hartford, CT on April 22nd, she was one of three daughters born to the late Raymond & Ethel Piaggi. She was raised in Windsor Locks, CT, and later worked for Pepsi Cola, where she met Lenny and moved to Barkhamsted to begin their life together. She was a stay-at-home mother for several years and later returned to work as an Executive Buyer for Inertia Dynamics, retiring in 2002. After retirement, she enjoyed time with her grandchildren, helping to raise them by providing care for them at home during the week. Rae was known to be the life of the party, always laughing and smiling. She loved to dance, ride snowmobiles and accompany Lenny on the motorcycle. She was known for her kind heart, love of animals and her beloved raccoons and wild turkeys, which she fed daily. Rae leaves behind two daughters, Tracy Michaud of Barkhamsted and Lynn Robotham and her husband John of West Hartland, CT; two beautiful granddaughters, Jayden and Karly who were the highlight of her life; a sister, Rena Jaeger of West Suffield, CT; a very special niece, Gena Mercier of Suffield, CT and a dear nephew Gary Miller of Granville, MA. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Geraldine Munson and her husband David; a brother-in-law, Jake and a nephew, Joey. Friends may call on Thursday, March 23, at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 4-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 12 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, New Hartford, CT.
