Raymond Tuohey Obituary
Ray worked for the Town of East Hartford for many years in the Engineering Dept. He was a member of the Elks Club in East Hartford, as well as an usher at St. Maurice Church in Bolton. He was an avid NY Yankees fan and truly enjoyed his annual family trip to St. Pete Beach in Florida.
He leaves behind his children Brenda Thayer and her husband James, Raymond Tuohey, Jr., and Robert Tuohey and his wife Krista; his grandchildren Ryan Vashalifski and his wife Bridget, Kyle Vashalifski, Alyssa Tuohey, Gabriella Tuohey, Noah Tuohey, Hunter Tuohey and Milena Tuohey; as well as his niece and nephew Michele and Michael Tuohey. He was predeceased by his daughter Elizabeth Vashalifski and brothers Donald and Harold Tuohey.

Ray and I have been friends since 1960, so many good times, so many memories. He was always someone I could count on in good times and hard times, my closest friend over the years. I’m sending along sincere condolences on behalf of the Bolton Conservation Commission. Ray volunteered his surveying services by helping us find property boundary pins and merestones all around Freja park. We struggled with heat, mosquitoes and the lack of daylight but like finding a needle in a haystack- got it done.
I learned a lot from Ray and am still thankful for his dedication.
