Dear Renee, how sad for your family to have gone all these years without you and that wonderful loving personality of yours. I was so lucky to have known you. I met you at the AA desk in Providence,RI and for the next years you treated me like your long lost Mother, always making sure I asked for you when I came to book travel. How many wonderful first class trips I took because of you and your kindness. How shocked I was when I came a few months later to book travel and be given the news. One of your kind friends took me aside when I came there to ask for you and told me the news away from the line of people, I was very thankful she did that. I will always remember you. Now that American is back in Providence I look over there every time and think of you. I am so sorry your son has to grown up without you, you were always showing me all the new photos of him. My heart goes out to your husband over his loss of you. May God Bless you and your Family. You will always have a friend in me, Stella Grace

I think of my pal Renee so very often. I am angry still how she was taken, then I realize no one will ever take what she left me. Her amazing personality, our wonderful times playing bingo, our crazy fun dancing at each others wedding, our great conversations, our planning of American Airlines Christmas parties, our laughing at ourselves and how we changed after becoming mothers. She is a friend that will never be replaced and I know a lot of others feel the same. Now she flies the heavens and I'm hoping she is hanging with my husband who passed as well.....love you girl

I have been thinking about you Renee, sometimes a smile and sometimes a tear. It feels like yesterday when you were called Home. Time goes so fast and yet so slow. I just read through the entire guest book again and I have to say I feel lighter. There is so much love here not only from family, friends, school chums, but also people who never met. I just wanted to stop back in and send my warm thoughts to your family and friends. Our 30th reunion is next year, I may go to this one.... and drink a toast to you. Thank you Renee for watching over all who cared for you. Don't forget, keep a spot open for me :) We have a lot of catching up to do :) God Bless you.

I'm not exactly sure what to wright... But, I feel compelled to send out something from my heart to you. I picked Renee's name randomly. I just want to let you, his family & friends, know that my love goes out to you. I am 31 yrs old and I'm sitting here watching, for the first time in 10 yrs, the horrific events that fell upon us that September 11th. You see, I have not been able to watch anything related until now and I'm not really sure that I am "able" to watch now... But I do and I will. As I know that you have been forced to deal with your unimaginable loss since the tragedy. Please know, that I have not forgotten and I never will. I want you to know that I greave for you and that I pray for you. As my tears fall I pray your hearts heal. Please take care of each other and let love fill your hearts. And know, although you may not always hear us, see us or feel us, there are many that hold you and Renee in the highest regards. Be strong.
With true love,

I don't know what to say. How can anyone find the words to ease the broken hearts of the friends and family members left behind. I went to Toll Gate with you Renee. Class of '82 and you used to make me smile and laugh. Always a kind word, your shoulder always there for when any of us needed it. You will always be missed and admired for your bravery. One day, when we can both meet again, I'm going to buy you a drink :) We have a lot of years to catch up on. And please forgive my lightness, but Renee would understand, she had a fantastic sense of humor :)

My continued thoughts and prayers to your family and friends...as well as all that lost someone they loved that day.

We miss you.

I knew Renee very well she was my very best friend from day one when I meet her in elementary school. Right from the start she took me right to her family's resturaunt. We would sit there and do our homework then go out and have some fun...

As we grew up I got to know her family. Her sister and her brothers. Her family was always there whenever Renee needed them. She had a very special family.

We were always there for each other from day one. When she was sick. I would do anything I could to help her out. She did the same for me when I burned my hand so bad that I couldn't write she was right there to write my answer for my work.. We had great times in Drum Rock, Winman and Toll Gate. If you were walking to your classes and she saw you she would always say hi... If something was ever bothering her you would never know it, she always had a smile on her face. She was a great person.

We always had a great time whenever we were toghter.

I am just sorry that for while in our lives we lost each other but not to soon before all this happened we found each other again, and we got to catch up on our lives.

Renee I just can't believe that your not here any more... But you'll always be in my heart no matter what..You'll never be forgotten here in my family.

Rest in peace ...We all loved you so dearly.
Your best friend

I did know Renee. I knew Renee as a lovely twelve year old girl; so eager and enthuastic to learn. I was her sixth grade teacher.

To those of you who are holding flags in her honor, planting trees with her name on them, riding your mototcycles with her name- she would be so proud of what you are doing. Thank you for holding her dear to your hearts.

Renee was such a determined optomist. She was a hard working student; always doing whatever was asked of her. Academics came rather easy to Renee. I fondly remember her offering to help others who were struggling to read or those who attempting to finish their homework before the morning bell rang.

Back in 1976, our classroom was one large room with no walls - filled with over one hundred kids! You would often find Renee in one of her favorite spots- either the Reading Tree House Loft working with her friends, or in a makeshift art area covered in oil paint! Everyone loved Renee!

Renee filled our school days with sunshine and laughter. A fabulous softball player, she excelled on the athletic fields as well.

Renee's family owned a popular local resturaunt. It was here, on Friday nights, where one would understand who Renee was, and why she was this lovely girl. From the minute you walked into "The Crow's Nest", her grandmother would warmly greet you (and I must add, try and sneak me, "the teacher", up to the front of the line :) Her Mom, Lucille and her dad, Ray, were the perfect examples of hard workers. Michelle, her older sister, and Ronnie, her older brother, would keep careful watch making sure Renee did whatever task they might ask her to do. The best part of an evening though, would be when 12 year old Renee would visit and chat at everyone's table. The Tetreault's strong family values as well as the closely knit family, make it clear why Renee was the person she was.

Memories. A young woman lost to the hands of terrorists. A peace maker and global person long before it was "in vogue" to be such. Why?

I will never forget you, Renee. I am thankful that our lives paths crossed. I may have taught you ancient histories, how to multiply improper fractions,or how to read and love great books, but most of all,Renee, YOU TAUGHT ME! Your beaming smile, dedicated friendships, and love of life will warm my heart forever.

May you rest in peace, Renee. May it comfort all of us that as beleivers in the Lord, we will meet again. God Bless you.

With Love,
Ms. Conde

Although I never knew Renee, I recently rode my motorcycle in a tribute ride for the victims of 9/11. I was blessed with a bracelet which had Renee's name on it. I wanted to write to her family and let them know that on September 11, 2002, Renee was not forgotten. It was my honor to have represented Renee. I read about her and we had so many things in common which made me realize how precious life really is. Renee will always be remembered in my heart and I will think of her always in my prayers.

Today we held a remembrance ceremony for the victims of 9/11 in Balboa Park here in San Diego. They handed out small American flags to each attendee and on the flag stick, there was a name and short information line about one victim. I had the flag with Renee's name on it. I am sorry for your loss, but feel lucky to have learned about what a fine person Renee was. In my own small way, I share both your grief and pride.

I planted a tree in honor of Renee Lucille Newell today. There was a person on the internet who purchased about 4,000 trees and placed a memorial tag on each one. Your wife, and mother, died a hero and will forever be remembered. God Bless!!

Angels are the guardians of hope and wonder, the keepers of magic and dreams. Wherever there is love, an angel is flying by. Your guardian angel knows you inside and out and loves you just the way you are. Angels keep it simple and always travel light. Remember to leave space in your relationships so the angels have room to play. Your guardian angel helps you find a place when you feel there is no place to go. Whenever you feel lonely, a special angel drops in for tea. Angels are with you every step of the way and help you soar with amazing grace. After all, we are angels in training; all we have do is spread our wings and fly.

We are deeply sorry for your great loss of Renee. What a warm and friendly smile she has in her picture which no doubt reflects her heart. I like her motto of the
"3 L's". May her life, love and 3L's continue living in all who love her. May the warmth of her love always surround you. May the precious memories of the beautiful times shared with Renee lighten the sorrow in your hearts. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

Our losses seem to keep mounting to an almost unbearable state. Seeing all of you at Stevies wake made me realize that if you could remain strong and carry on Renee's legacy and love for life that I would resolve to do the same for Steven as well. My comfort is knowing that all our loved ones are together in a better and peaceful place, looking out for those of us who our left behind. My Prayers are with you through this time of loss

As my sould takes flight to paradise
upon a snow-white dove...
I'm free to roam in my heavenly home,
safe on the wings of love.

As I leave this world and fly away,
To a place where dreams come true...
My soul has found it's paradise,
But my love lives on in you.
