Richard Gemme Obituary



Richard Moses Gemme Jr., age 80, passed away on Friday, December 9th 2016 at his home in San Tan Valley, Arizona. Richard was one of three children born to Richard and Lillian Gemme. He grew up with his sisters in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. Richard was very active in sports in school before joining the United States Marine Corps. He served honorably during the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of Sergeant before returning home to Rocky Hill. Richard began working for AT&T and then Lucent Technologies as an installer. His life revolved around his family and his favorite pastime was helping his kids or nieces and nephews with projects around their houses. He loved spending time at the ocean and on his boat. Richard leaves behind two sisters, Alice Catania and Jean Barber, his daughter Carol, his son Patrick and daughter-in-law Angelina. Funeral services will be held on Saturday the 17th of December at 1100 am at St. James Roman Catholic Church 767 Elm St. Rocky Hill, CT 06416.

Carol, I am very sorry to learn that your father passed away. I know that he loved you and Patrick very much. I remember him taking all of us horseback riding, and then for pizza. He was a wonderful, and a generous father.

Sorry to hear of Dick's passing -Condolences to
his Family.
I have worked with him on numerous occasions at
Lucent and I must say that was a pleasure .
He was a fun guy and made our days happy days.
