Richard Modean Obituary

Richard F. "Moe" Modean, 81, of Manchester, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Son of the late Joseph E. and Clara (Krischsieper) Modean Crie, he was born in Manchester on February 21, 1942.

He retired from the Town of Manchester Water Department, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years.

Richie was a very active member of several clubs. He was a lifetime member of the British American Club, Elks Club of Manchester, and Stafford Fish and Game Club. Richie loved hunting and fishing in his pastime, as well as making maple syrup with his good friends and a Budweiser in hand. He had a great sense of humor and always loved a good joke. He was a fan of the UCONN Women's Basketball team; loved watching the Giants and was an avid Yankees baseball fan. Richie's favorite activity was always spending time with his family and friends. Richie had a heart of gold, he was a true friend to all, and he will be greatly missed. We love you Richie.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Nancy Dzen-Modean; his son, Donald Modean, Robert Dzen, Rebekah (Julian), and Ted (Aaron); his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Anthony, Sawyer, Fiona and Trevor. He is also survived by his siblings, Betty Cooper and Robert Modean, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Richie was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Clara, his brother, Donald, his twin brother, Ronald and stepbrother, Johnny Crie.
