Richard SCHWALBACH Obituary

SCHWALBACH, Richard F. " O Son of Spirit! With the joyful tidings of light I hail thee: rejoice! To the court of holiness I summon thee; abide therein that thou mayest live in peace for evermore." – Baha'u'llah Richard F. Schwalbach, 85, of Bloomfield, formerly of Windsor, died peacefully on Sunday (October 10, 2010), at Alexandria Manor. Born on May 4, 1925 in Menomonee Falls, WI, he was the son of the late Monroe and Florence (Spinner) Schwalbach. Richard was married to Muriel Maltby and together they settled in Van Nuys, CA. They raised their family in Ft. Worth, TX, where Richard worked as a Design Engineer for Bell Helicopter until his retirement in 1990. Richard was first and foremost a devoted family man, dedicated to his wife and children. He was active with community development and spent much time volunteering with sector and planning commissions in Texas, which enabled him to share his great sense for spatial design. He had a love for all types of aviation and was a member of the American Helicopter Society. Along with Muriel, his wife for over 59 years, he leaves his daughters, Nancy Kendall of Tuckahoe, NY, and Anne Alleva and her husband Richard of Windsor, a sister, Mary Jo Schwalbach and her husband Ira Gitler of New York City and a granddaughter, Gabrielle Alleva. He was predeceased by his sister, Jean Schwalbach. Funeral Services will be private at the request of his family. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, CT Chapter, 279 New Britain Rd., Suite 5, Kensington, CT 06037. Carmon Windsor Funeral Home has care of the arrangements.
