Robert W. Blair

Robert W. Blair, 86, of Suffield, beloved husband of the late Elaine (Labrecque) Blair passed away Friday, February 5, 2021. Robert was born November 7, 1934 in Marlborough, NH son of the late Harry and Melvina (Poisson) Blair. He grew up in Marlborough where he graduated from Marlborough High School, he went on to graduate from Wentworth College. Robert worked with the CT National Guard for over 40 years serving as an aircraft maintenance engineer. In his earlier years he was a boy scout, a scout master, a life scout. He served as a lieutenant with the Civil Air Patrol, he was member of the Lions Club of Suffield, he served with the Suffield Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years, he acted as restoration director of the New England Air Museum and he enjoyed hunting and fishing and traveling up and down the east coast as well as traveling to Germany. Robert was also a member of the Ellington Congregational Church. He is survived by two sons, Bruce Blair and his wife Lestina of East Granby, Jason Blair of FL; two step-sons, Glenn Sherman and his wife Kimberly, Scott Noble; two step-daughters, Laura Lee Reed and her husband Alan, Jennifer Lynne Piotte and her husband Andre; a brother, John Blair of NH; a sister, Ann Marie Sweeney of MD; eight grandchildren; Daniel Blair and his wife, Nicole, Jason Blair, Jr., Anthony Blair, Kristen Blair, Angelique Blair, Kaylee Piotte, Morgan Piotte, Kevin Blair; three great grandchildren, Brooklyn Nicole Grillo Blair, Maci Blair, Colton Blair. He was predeceased by a son, Brian Blair; a sister, Barbara Quadriani. His family will receive friends on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 2:00-3:30 PM followed by a memorial service at 3:30 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield. Burial with military honors will be in West Suffield Cemetery, West Suffield.
