Robert T. Daly Jr.

1941 - 2021

Robert T. "Bob" Daly Jr., 80, of East Hartford, CT, passed away peacefully with his children by his side on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Hartford Hospital. Bob was born in Hartford, CT, to the late Robert T. Daly Sr. and Vera (Kiskunas) Daly on March 1, 1941. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and then worked at Southern New England Telephone Company for 36 years. He was an avid UCONN Women's Basketball fan/armchair coach for many years. Although they won multiple national championships, he did not receive any recognition, but never resigned his position as armchair coach. Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Margaret M. Daly and his son Michael P. Daly. He is survived by his children; Kathleen M. Brick, Colleen and Jerry Hatcher, Robert and Tina Daly and special friend, Mary Ellen Dinda. He was the favorite Bumpa to Rachel, Emily, Sam, Matthew, Rylie, Michael, and Julia and was the oldest sibling to Edward Daly, Bill Daly and Carolyn Daly. Bob's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the countless doctors, nurses and medical staff who helped him with his care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 11am in St. Catherine Church of St. Marianne Cope Parish, 6 Windsorville, Rd., Broad Brook, East Windsor, CT 06016, with his nephew Rev. Dennis Vincenzo officiating. Everyone is asked to please wear a safe mask in church as we worship safely together. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Broad Brook.
