Robert G. Hellstrom

1935 - 2021

Robert G. Hellstrom, 85, of East Hampton passed away Friday January 15, 2021 at Mid State Medical Center in Meriden. Born November 20, 1935 in Hartford he was the son of the late G. Edwin and Elsa (Carlson) Hellstrom. Robert received his B.A. from Brown University and worked as an underwriter for Phoenix Mutual Life for over 30 years. He had served his country as a member of the Connecticut Air National Guard and was a long time member of the Belltown Car Club and was the editor of their newsletter. Robert loved walking his dogs at the local parks. He spent summers on Lake Pocotopaug and at his cabin on Bantam Lake. Robert is survived by his many friends from East Hampton and his family including cousin George Elmgren of Canton, nephew Erik Elmgren of West Hartford, and nieces Louise Elmgren of St. Louis, MO, and Kirsten Jansen of East Hartland and their spouses, children and grandchildren. Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St East Hampton on Friday Jan. 29th from 10:00AM until 12:00 Noon.
