Robert Barker Hill III

Robert Barker Hill III, 34, of Glastonbury, CT and formerly of Somers, CT, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Friday, November 10, 2017. Robert, or Bobby as he was known to his friends and family, leaves behind 3 cherished daughters, Ava (9), Leah (6), and Bree (3), and a beloved wife, Kristie. He is survived by his mother, Rose Buonanducci, of South Windsor, CT and his 3 sisters, Stacy and her husband Timothy Hilliker of Glastonbury, Sarah Hill of Somers, and Heather and her husband Keith McLaughlin of Somers. He was loved, adored, looked up to, and will be missed by all 16 nieces and nephews ranging in ages 5 to 19 years old. He is predeceased by his father, Robert B. Hill, Jr, of Hartford, CT, who passed away in August of 2004. Bobby was eager and proud to serve in our nation's military. He was first enlisted in the United States Navy and later he served in the Army National Guard. As Bobby grew up the son and nephew of drummers, it was no surprise that he would become a very gifted drummer himself. A fan of Tool, A Perfect Circle, The Beatles, and anything else you could drum a good beat to, music was sacred to him and he was passionate about the music he constantly had playing. He was a devout watcher of Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead. A prankster, he enjoyed making those around him laugh, even when he was scaring them. His humor and personality will be sorely missed by all those he knew. A wake will take place at Brooklawn Funeral Home, 511 Brook St. Rocky Hill, CT at 10 am on Saturday, November 18, 2017, and funeral services will be held at 11am. Robert will be buried at 12pm in the Veteran's Cemetery in Middletown, close to his father's resting place. Friends and family are invited to come together after the services at Angelo's Restaurant in Glastonbury, CT. The family is asking callers to accessorize their apparel (a tie, a bracelet, etc..) with something blue, as it was Bobby's favorite color. We take comfort in knowing that he's with his father in Heaven, most likely drumming again and catching up on missed time. Though this world has become a darker place without his presence to light it up, Heaven itself has become a more humorous, if not completely reinvented, place.
