WOODFIELD SR., Robert H.
Robert H. Woodfield, Sr., 76, passed away on Thursday, (December 8, 2011) at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the widower of Shirley A. (Gabrielski) Woodfield. Mr. Woodfield was born on December 18, 1934 in Naugatuck, a son of the late Harold C. Woodfield, Sr. and Julia (Bott) Woodfield. He was retired from Uniroyal Inc where he worked for many years as a Computer Analyst, and he also owned his own business in Naugatuck, ACE Computer Enterprises and also formerly worked for C.C.C.I in Southington. He was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Naugatuck and served as a Burgess for many decades. He served on the Board of Directors and was a past President of the Peter J. Foley little league and was an organizer of the Naugatuck Peter J. Foley Girls Softball League. He was a founding member and an inductee of the Naugatuck Hall of Fame a member of the Board of Directors of HRD in Naugatuck. He was a member of the Naugatuck Lodge of Elks, 967 and a member of the Naugatuck Lions Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He is survived by five sons, Robert H. Woodfield, Jr. and his wife Cheri of Clifton Park, NY, Gary J. Woodfield and his wife Maryann of New Britain, Gregory Bott Woodfield and his wife Lori of Naugatuck, Michael J. Woodfield and his wife Johanna of Oxford and Jeffery S. Woodfield and his wife Susan of Naugatuck. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He joins his granddaughter Ashleigh Delia Woodfield in heaven. He is also predeceased by four brothers, Harold, Jr., James, Donald and Kenneth and two sisters Grace and Eleanor.
The funeral will be held on Monday, (December 12, 2011) at 11 a.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to: St. Jude 's Children's Research Hospital Memorial and Honor Program/ 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and the Peter J. Foley Little League Inc. 299 Scott Street Naugatuck, CT 06770.
