Dear McCarthy Family,
I just heard from my sister Carolyn and my dad about the loss of your mother. I have such fond memories of her and the wonderful friendship that our parents shared. She was truly one of a kind. My heart is with you.
Love, Cindy Cox Roman

Dear McCarthy Family,
I am with you all in thought and prayer, especially today. Roberta (who we called Bobby) was one of my oldest friends. We were nurses together at the Kahler School of Nursing (she in the class of 1947 and I in class of 1945) almost 70 years ago both as cadet nurses. Bobby and Joe called me on April 1st, 1948 (I think) and asked me if I could be in their wedding that afternoon as her maid of honor in Hanover, New Hampshire. We had dinner together at the Hanover Inn and had champagne together to celebrate. Over the years, my family and I often stopped at the house in Springfield in our Winnebago for a visit. All the kids would sleep in the Winnebago, while Al and I slept in the house. What fun we all had! We often celebrated our wedding anniversaries together at the Breakers in Palm Beach in Florida over the years as well.
I will write a note to Denise soon and will notify the Kahler School of Nursing.
Much love and Christian sympathy,
Dorothy Howland
