Ronald Smith Obituary



Ronald E. "Ronnie" Smith, 76, of Bloomfield, beloved husband of Judith (Cusick) Smith of 53 Years entered into eternal peace at his home Thursday, Nov. 14th, 2013. The son of the late Lee and Martha (Lee) Smith, Ron was born in PA and was raised in Newington, CT. He had lived in Bloomfield since 1960. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy and was employed for 40 years as a crane operator for the Union of Operating Engineers Local #478. In his free time, Ron enjoyed gardening and walking. Besides his wife Judith, Ron is survived by two sons, David Smith of New Britain, CT and Michael Smith of Bloomfield, CT; a daughter, Carol Smith of Windsor; a grandson, Alex Smith; a sister, Barbara Thibodeau of Naugatuck, CT and a brother, Heister Smith of Milton, FL. Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 18th from 5-7 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19th at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels. Committal will follow at St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery.
