Rosa M. EDWARDS

EDWARDS, Rosa M. Rosa M. (Pledger) Edwards, 85, of East Hartford, formerly of Hartford, wife of the late James Edwards, died peacefully on Sunday (May 23, 2010) at Riverside Healthcare, East Hartford. She was born on August 3, 1924 in Camden, AL, daughter of the late Curry and Nellie (Moten) Pledger. Rosa was a resident of Hartford most of her life and a member of the New Life Apostolic Church in Hartford. Rosa worked as a Home Health Aid for Hartford Hospital. She was a kind, caring, loving woman who would do anything for her family and friends. She leaves her sisters, Rebecca Lewis and her husband Rudolph of Windsor, Annie Major of Bloomfield and Martha Foster of Alabama, a brother, Ernest Pledger and his wife Fairest of Memphis, TN and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, John, Rehobeth, Earl and Heustis Pledger, and a sister, Ann Dobson. A funeral service will be held on Friday (May 28, 2010), 11 a.m., at Grace Lutheran Church, 46 Woodland St., Hartford. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, Hartford. Her family will receive friends on Friday, prior to the service, from 10- 11 a.m., at the church.
