RUBY M. WILLOUGHBY 93 of Stevinson died February 21, 2005 at Grace Home in Livingston.
Residing in Stevinson her entire life, she was known as the longest living resident before retiring to the Grace Home. Ruby operated her families general store before eloping in 1931 with Clyde Willoughby and long time friends Lyle Cox and Doris Owen to Reno Nevada to be married. The newlyweds soon acquired Ruby's fathers home ranch on Fourth Avenue in Stevinson, where they had a small dairy. Preceding her husbands death she was appointed general Postmaster of Stevinson, where she held the job for 18 plus years. Ruby was a very active community member: The Sunshine Club, Altar Society, American Legion, Auxiliary, PTA, TOPS, Senior Citizens and Retired Postmasters Organization.
She is survived by her children, Clyde Willoughby and Linda Smith both of Stevinson; eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Clyde W. Willoughby, daughter Anita M. McCullock, two grand daughters, two brothers, two sisters and many close family members.
Allen Mortuary in Turlock will be holding visitation from l0am-6pm on Friday, followed by a rosary at 7pm. A mass will be held at 10am @ Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Stevinson on Saturday with burial at Turlock Memorial Park.
