COFRANCESCO, Simon Simon Cofrancesco, 82, of the Weatogue section of Simsbury, beloved husband of Sandra (Thompson) Cofrancesco, died Thursday, (December 30, 2010,) at McLean. Born in New Haven, son of the late Arthur and Eleanor (Richardi) Cofrancesco, he served in the U S Army, E Company, 179th Infantry, during the Korean War. He then received his BS in Industrial Design from the University of Bridgeport. His professional career was spent as a free-lance designer doing projects for Boston College, Holyoke Hospital, General Electric among many others. His expertise included interior space design, scientific toys, fitted furniture, traffic engineering, foreign and domestic systems, and well as design challenges of all types. He leaves his wife Sandra (Thompson) Cofrancesco; two sons Dr. Simon Cofrancesco and his wife Roxanna of Mississippi and Steven Cofrancesco and his wife Liudmyla of Arizona; two daughters Sandra Cofrancesco of Westfield, MA and Susan Green and her husband Michael of Longmeadow, MA; 11 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter Adriana. Family and friends may gather, Tuesday, January 11, 2011, from 10-11 a.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. with military honors.
