Steven Conti Obituary

Steven Francis Conti passed away on Friday February 24th after a very courageous battle with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer, one he fought for more than twenty years. He was born in Manchester, Connecticut on June 28, 1960, son of Norma Andisio Conti and the late Francis J. Conti. He was married to Véronique Subrizi for twenty-eight years. They were married in Biarritz, France, where they frequently visited, enjoying summers at the beach and hiking in the Pyrénées. He is also survived by their two children Gregory Francis Conti and Céline Emmanuelle Conti as well as his beloved dog Belle. He leaves his sister Donna Tarasek and her husband Edward, his brother Philip Conti and his wife JoAnn, his nephews David Converse and Michael Conti, and his nieces Christina Converse, Kathryn Conti, and Lauren Dunckley. Steve was a 1978 graduate of East Catholic high school. He attended Assumption College and University of Connecticut where he earned a Bachelors of Science in biology in 1982. He worked for twenty-five years as the chief chemist for the Water Meriden Pollution Control Facility in Meriden. He loved intellectual discussions centered around politics and international events. He had a passion for traveling, and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson in the springtime as well as exploring the beautiful cities of Europe. A fine gourmet, he loved great foods with a penchant for French foods, cheese, and pastries. He will be remembered as a man of great generosity towards his friends and family. Steve was a compassionate and dedicated man, who always put others first giving them love and support when they most needed it. He was very proud of his children for their life accomplishments. A private memorial will be held in the springtime. Memorial donations can be made on his behalf to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, www.pancan.org. Steve Conti was a good man whom I grew up living next door to him for 10 plus years. He was the type of man that you stopped what you were doing to listen to him speak because it would be something very worthwhile. Rest in peace.
