MCINNIS, Steven R.
Steven Richard "Steve" McInnis, 64, of East Hartford, beloved father of James and Daniel McInnis, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on Sunday (October 13, 2013), at Touchpoints at Chestnut in East Windsor after a brief illness. Steve was born on August 10, 1949 in Hartford to Richard Peter McInnis and Tolma Maria (DelGiudice) McInnis and lived his whole life in East Hartford. Steve attended school in East Hartford. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving in Camp Lejeune, Parris Island and Camp Pendleton, achieving the rank of Corporal. He returned from the Marines and began a 40 year career as a Carpenters Union Local 43 flooring installer, working throughout the state of Connecticut at many sites including Yale University, Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods, University of Connecticut in Storrs, and the Naval Submarine Base in New London. Steve retired in 2011 after a long career. He was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, cheering them on for many years through thick and thin. Steve was an avid scuba diver and enjoyed diving in ocean waters in the Cayman Islands, Honduras, Turks and Caicos, and Rhode Island. Steve was also an avid reader, especially of books concerning U.S. History and the Military. However, Steve's biggest passion was his two wonderful sons and family, to whom he devoted his entire life. Steve is survived by his mother Tolma (DelGuidice) McInnis of East Hartford; sons James McInnis of East Hartford, and Daniel McInnis and his fiancée Stacy LaCapra and son Devon of Bristol; sister Karen Brower and her husband Jeffrey of South Windsor; brother Thomas McInnis and his wife Marilyn of Dunnellon, FL; nephews Kevin Brower, his wife Jennifer and son Benjamin of Holliston, MA, Craig McInnis and wife Raquel of West Palm Beach, FL, and niece Katherine Brower of Manchester. Steve was married to Beverly Potvin of East Hartford, mother of their sons James and Daniel McInnis. Steve was predeceased by his father Richard Peter McInnis; his sister Nancy Pacheco of Ellington; his nephew Richard Thurlow of Ellington, and his beloved German Shepherd, Rebel. Steve's family is forever grateful for the support and care of family and friends. We would also like to thank the entire staff at Touchpoints at Chestnut Rehab Facility. You gave us the greatest gift which was allowing us more time with Steve. Each of you was a blessing to Steve.
There will be no funeral services. A Celebration of Steve's life will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Touchpoints at Chestnut, 171 Main Street, East Windsor, CT. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Shandalon Steve!

One year has passed and the pain has not gone away. It lingers more each day and fond memories of so many good times and laughs help to relieve the sadness and pain. Love you and miss you more than ever. Your little sis Lee Lee
