Suzanne Bashaw Obituary

BASHAW, Suzanne Dugdale Suzanne Dugdale Bashaw, 48, of Madison, died peacefully on Friday (May 1, 2009) at her family home in West Windsor, VT, after a courageous two year battle with cancer. A native of Vermont, Sue graduated from Woodstock Union High School in 1978 and Champlain College in 1982. In 1983, she married John Bashaw of Manchester and they moved to Maine where they lived for a short time at the Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge. They returned to Vermont and in 1986, their son Taylor was born. The family moved to Middletown in 1987, and in 1989, Sarah was born. Sue and her family then settled into their current home in Madison where Sue began work in the administrative office of The Country School. Sue was first and foremost a loving mother to her children. She also adored her work at TCS and being around children. Whenever possible, Sue spent time on her family farm in Vermont, enjoying the outdoors with her many dogs. Sue is survived by her husband and two children. She also leaves behind her mother Patricia Dugdale, her brother David and his wife Tracey, all of West Windsor, VT, her sister Debra Dugdale of Milpitas, CA, 10 nieces and nephews, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her father David Dugdale, Sr. A private burial will take place in Brownsville, VT, and the family will host friends and relatives at two open houses: Saturday, May 9, at their home in Madison, CT from 1-5 p.m.; and Sunday, May 17, at Sue's family home in Brownsville, VT from 1-5 p.m. Sue and her family thank all of the people who have cared for Sue and provided her with much appreciated love and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756.

Dear family and friends:
I offer my sincere condolences to you all. Some words of encouragement are from Psalms 68:19 We read: "What a glorious Lord! He who daily bears our burdens also gives us our salvation."
