Theresa Daversa Obituary

Theresa (Richi) Daversa, 88, beloved wife of Henry J. Daversa, Jr. of Wethersfield, passed away on August 27, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Paternostro) Richi. Theresa had been employed by the State of CT, DMR, for 29 years until her retirement in 1994. She was a communicant of Incarnation Church and was a CCD teacher for many years. She volunteered for several years at the Avery Heights gift shop and participated as a model in their annual fashion show. Theresa was an avid reader. She loved to cook and was famous for her ice cream cakes and biscottis. She and Henry loved to attend Broadway shows at the Bushnell. Above all else, she will be remembered for spending time with husband, Henry, and their family. She always put family first and enjoyed wonderful times at their pool. Her positivity and love of family will be forever remembered and greatly missed. Anyone who knew Theresa will remember her for her sweet demeanor and kind heart. Whenever you saw her, she was always dressed to the nines. In addition to her devoted husband, Henry, of 69 years, she will be dearly missed by her children; Hank and his wife, JoAnn Daversa of Rocky Hill; Dan and his wife, Mary Daversa; and Cindy Sousa all of Wethersfield; and her three precious grandchildren, Matthew Daversa, Danielle Daversa, Meghan and her husband, Matthew Siracusa; and her two adoring great-grandchildren, Lucy and Emilia Siracusa of South Windsor. Theresa was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Michael James Daversa, and her cousin, Carmela Mele, who was like a sister to her. A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 9:45 am at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church and masks will be required. Burial will be held privately. Memorial contributions can be made to Mikey's Place, c/o Dan & Mary Daversa, 5 Grist Mill Rd., Wethersfield, CT 06109 or mikeysplace.org.
