Victor Swanson Obituary



Of Coventry, passed peacefully on January 16, 2015 surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Born September 14, 1947 in New Britain, Skip was self-employed by many area schools, and the US Postal Service until he retired in 2009. He was an avid motorcycle rider and belonged to the CT Motorcycle Riders Association, and lived to ride with his friend Eddy Sczurek. He loved spending time with family and friends, and talking to his cousin/friend Rodney Swanson of Nevada. Skip leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Noreen (Leo) Swanson. Step Mother Janet Swanson, sons Victor N. Swanson III and his wife Maryann. James Doucette and wife Christine, Wayne Doucette and his partner Kristin (Krit) Dusablon, a daughter Cindy Swanson. Grandchildren; Katelyn, Abby, Colon, Mikayla, Megan, Randy and his wife Jennifer, one great granddaughter Sydney Ann, four sisters; Gwen, Gale, Debra, and Diane. A brother in law Robert Leo and sister in law Crystal Snow. Several nieces, nephews and cousins, and two very close friends, Bob and Ann Upton Skip was predeceased in death by: His Mother Violet (Peterson) Kasey, his father Victor N. Swanson Sr., Step father, Enock Kasey and a brother Gary Swanson. Calling hours will be on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 9 to 10 am with a Service at 10AM at the Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm Street Rocky Hill CT 06067. Burial will immediately follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made in Skip's name to the, Coventry food Pantry, 1712 Main Street, Coventry, CT 06238 or to the Windham Region No Freeze Center, PO Box 46, Willimantic, CT 06226
