DUNN, Violet (Deren) Adamczyk
Violet (Deren) Adamczyk Dunn, 91, formerly of George St., Middletown, wife of the late John C. Adamczyk and J. Franklyn Dunn, died Saturday, (November 9, 2013) at Apple Rehabilitation Center, Middletown. She was born in Middletown, the daughter of the late Joseph and Veronica (Gryczh) Deren. Vi was a member of the Emblem Club #452 and was awarded their Citizen of the Year in 2002 as well as a member of #3394 AARP. Her greatest gift was helping others and she was a lifelong volunteer for many causes especially the Veterans' Hospital and the Adult Day Care Center. She is survived by her loving daughters, Elizabeth and her husband Frederick Hickey of Cromwell, and Janet Newell and her husband Richard of Wethersfield; five adored grandchildren, Ann Hickey of Middletown, Brian Hickey and his wife Jocelyn of Cromwell, Kevin Hickey and his wife Meghan of Cromwell, Todd Newell and his wife Amanda of Norfolk, MA and Lisa Krukoff and her husband William of Ashford; seven great grandchildren who were the lights of her life, Cameryn, Emily and Addison Hickey, Sienna and Jacob Newell and Hayley and Harrsion Krukoff. Violet also leaves her nieces and nephews and many dear friends, including the residents of South Green Apartments. She was predeceased by her grandson, Stephen Hickey; her sister, Stacia Kulas; and her brothers, Edmond, Edward, and Chester Deren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday (Nov. 12th) at 9:15 a.m. from Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Pius X Church, Middletown. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Middletown.
