Wilbur D. Troutman

TROUTMAN, Wilbur D. Wilbur D. Troutman age 70 passed away Friday (October 19, 2007), in Hartford. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Laurie MacAlpine, daughter Lucca and mother Colina Wells. Born in Akron, OH, Wilbur was a graduate of Garfield High School. He received his B.A.degree from UCLA Berkely and his M.A. degree from San Francisco State College where he was a member of the faculty. He continued his education at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania while teaching political science and philosophy. He also was a faculty member at Western Connecticut State College. Wilbur served proudly with the 2nd division of the U.S. Marine Corp. Wilbur was the president of Building Closure Systems. Fearless in the cause for civility in society, Wilbur was a leader in the community and was guided by a belief in social ethics and integrity. He was a member of the Civilian Review Board in Hartford, and Broadview Community Advocates. Wilbur was preceeded in death by his father Lee Gilbert Troutman, sister Sherry Johnson Jendrisak mother in law Madeline MacAlpine, brothers in law Christopher and Tony MacAlpine, Harlan Johnson and sister in law Polly MacAlpine. Nephews Jeffrey Johnson Tod Johnson, nieces Beth Ann and Eyal Gabay, Dr. Lisa Cousineau and Thomas Cousineau, Shannon Berenyi, Aunts Catherine Rocha and Ann Hyle. Many great nephews and nieces and many friends especially his close friends Dr. Richard Saluzzo, Michael Curry and Scott Gregory. Our thanks to Doctor Ritchie for his love and care of Wilbur. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday October 27 in the Chapel on the campus of Ethel Walker School 230 Bushy Hill Road Simsbury Conn. 06070. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Ethel Walker School Music Department at the above address or a charity of their choice.
