Sybil, Bruce, Michael, Julie, and family:

Please accept my deepest sympathies on the passing of your beloved husband, father, and grandfather. In a world where class and honor are in ever-decreasing supply, Billy was an old-school mensch and gentleman in every sense of the word.

Having lost my mom -- who truly loved Billy -- only recently, I know that there is nothing I can say to truly ease your grief at a moment like this. But the strength that you will find in your friends and in each other will sustain you.

May Billy's memory be a blessing.

To the family of William Deitch,

I am here in Florida for the winter, but read of Bill's passing. I remember an earlier and happier time spent with Bill and Solon Weiner. Bill and Solon were both an inspiration to me about how one should live one's life.

I will fondly remember Bill and I extend my deepest sympathy to your family on your loss.

Mr. Deitch has been patient with us during his stay in our unit. He has a good sense of humor and at the same time a respectable person. There was once a time he told me that he is "ready". In his sick days, he looks tired most of the time but when his family comes, he lights up. He said, if he ever makes it home, the first thing he is going to do is lay down on his favorite couch in the den. To the family of Mr. Deitch, in behalf of 1 North staff, we send you our deepest sympathy for the loss of an important person in your life.
