William P. Messenger, Jr., 49, of East Hartford, died unexpectedly on January 19, 2017. He was born in Hartford, April 26, 1967, and grew up in East Hartford. He then raised his two children in Manchester. Will was a Tax Correction Examiner for the State of Connecticut for over 27 years. He is survived by his father, William P. Messenger Sr., and his wife Elizabeth of Florida, and his mother, Patricia (Kelley) Henry, and her husband David of South Carolina. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his former wife Monique (Dufour) Messenger of Manchester, daughter Cassandra Messenger of Manchester and her fiancée Christopher Carlson of Middletown, his son Jacob Messenger of Manchester, one brother Timothy Messenger and his wife Renata of South Carolina, two sisters Ellenmarie Caisse and her husband Daniel of Portland, and Margaret Costa and her husband Albert of Middletown, as well as several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, January 24, 2017, from 4-7:30 PM, preceding the service at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, CT 06108.
