William Stringer Obituary

William C. "Captain" "Talib" Stringer, 50, of Ference Rd., Ashford, formerly of East Hampton, died suddenly Tuesday (September 18, 2001) at his home. Born March 1, 1951 in Middletown, son of Mary (Butts) Stringer Lowe and the late Paul D. Stringer, Sr., he had lived in the Ashford area for the past three years. He had worked as a car sales associate for Morande Lincoln Mazda dealer, Manchester. He was a 1969 graduate of East Hampton High School and a 1974 graduate of Eastern CT State University. Besides his mother, he is survived by a stepfather, William H. Lowe of Hartford; two sons, Scott T. Stringer of New Britain and Sakima M. Stringer of Seattle, WA; a daughter, Tuere T. Stringer of Manchester; a brother, Paul D. Stringer Jr. of Newington; two sisters, Mary F. Jones of Cromwell and Lynn R. Ford of Newington; three grandchildren, Craig J. Stringer, Denise M. Stringer and Zenae Miller; and a close personal friend, Sheekas Stringer Harris. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. in the Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main Street, East Hampton. Friends may call at the funeral home TODAY from 6-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Diabetes Assoc., 300 Research Pkwy, Meriden, 06454.
