VASSAR, William G. William G. Vassar, 79, of Newington, husband of Barbara E. (Benhard) Vassar, died Sunday, (November 28, 2004) in Hartford. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, December 1 between 4-8 p.m. at Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Avenue, Newington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 2 at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Mary, 626 Willard Avenue, Newington. Burial with full military honors will be at West Meadow Cemetery, Willard Avenue, Newington, immediately following. Memorial donations may be made to the Indian Hill Country Club Scholarship Fund, 111 Golf Street, Newington, CT 06111, or to the St. Joseph Tuition Assistance Scholarship Fund, c/o Cathedral High School, 260 Surrey Road, Springfield, MA 01118-1199.
